The Last Two Months, The Death Toll In Gorkhaland Has Risen To 11. But If You Take A Look At The Television Channels And Newspapers Reports Today, You Will Barely See Any Reflection Of The Fact That An Oppressed Nationality Is Being Held At Gunpoint To Preserve Bengali Nationalist Aspirations. The Demand For Gorkhaland Dates Back To Over A Century. The Distinct Differences In Culture And Language Have Clearly Separated The People Of The Hill Region Of West Bengal From The Bengali Speaking Populace Of The Rest Of The State. The Demand To Secede From West Bengal Is Thus Not Unfounded. In Fact It Is Entirely A Democratic Demand Which Pledges To Strengthen The Multinational Characteristic Of India.

It Would Be A Folly To Suppose That The Struggle For Recognition Will Divert The Working People Or Distract Them From Engaging In The New Democratic Revolution.

The Revolution Involves Waging Battles On Multiple Fronts And Is Consistent With The Demand Of Political Secession From An Oppressing Nationality. In India We Have Seen States Like Jharkhand, Uttarakhand And Telengana Emerging Due To United People's Movements.

Bengali Chauvinism That Reduces Darjeeling To A Vacation Spot Is Often Legitimised By Political Parties Whose Primary Motive Is To Look After Ruling Class Interests.

It Goes Without Saying That The Force Of A United People's Movement Is Tremendous And Therefore Its Final Victory Is Inevitable.

Let Us Join Hands In A Bid To Form A Political Order Where Democracy Is Not A Farce. 'HAND IN HAND WITH GORKHALAND' .
