The Last Rites Of Saheed Tashi Bhutia Took Place In Sonada

Police Atrocities Caused One More Death Last Night Of A Youth Named Tashi Bhutia In Sonada

Gorkha Students' Federation (GSF) India And All Concerned Students Of Sikkim University (SU), Convene A “Protest Gathering” At Central Library Premise Of SU To Condemn The West Bengal State Sponsored Murder Of Innocent Citizens. We Extend Our Heartiest Condolence To The Family Of Our Beloved Seven Martyrs Who Was Brutally Shot Death By West Bengal’s Coercive Apparatus. The Gathering Also Condemned The Killing Of Tashi Bhutia In Sonada; Suraj Sundas In Darjeeling And Of Another Protestor (Name Yet Not Known) By The Orders Of The State Government. Such Frequents Acts Of Violence On The Part Of The State Has Shaken The Belief In The Democratic Process. Such Acts Have Wounded The Humanity Indeed.

Such Repeatedly Increasing W.B. State Orchestrated Murders, As Well As Undefined Out-Of-The-Book Police Atrocities And Barbarism Over Nation Loving Patriotic Citizen Of India, Proves That How The West Bengal Government Is Intended To Turn “The Proposed Gorkhaland” Into A Killing Field And Valley Of Death. Amidst The Political Hegemony, The State-Sponsored Terrorism And The Silent Central Government Of The Largest Democracy In The World, Such Acts Of Repeated Violence Questions The 'Right To Life.' We Seek An Answer From The Centre And All Democratic Agencies Of India That Whether The Article 21 Of The Indian Constitution Is Applicable Over The Gorkhaland Supporters Or Not. The Article States, “No Person Shall Be Deprived Of His Life Or Personal Liberty Except According To A Procedure Established By Law.” We, Gorkhaland Supporters, Are Deprived Of “Right To Life” (Article 21) Of The Constitution Of Our Country Just Because We Are Celebrating The Article 3A Of Same Constitution Which Allows Us To Demand Gorkhaland. We Also Seek An Answer From The Central Government Of India That Why The Fundamental Rights That Are Ensured Under Article 19(2) Is Deprived To The Gorkhaland Supporters. Whenever The Gorkhaland Supporters Assemble For The Peaceful Rally Being Ensured By The Very Article Of The Constitution, The W.B. Police Forces Launch Brutal Unprovoked Firing Resulting Murder Of Innocent Citizens.

We Also Seek Answer To The Paradox That Why Government Of India, Non-Governmental Organizations Dealing With Democratic Rights And Liberty, And Those Individuals Who Believe In Democracy Are Mute Spectators Today When Mamata Banerjee Led West Bengal Government Has Denied The Internet Access Resulting The Gross Violation Of “Right To Freedom Of Speech And Expression” Ensured By The Article 19(1) Of The Constitution Of India.

We Strongly Condemn And Protest Against The Acts Of Bullying, Ridiculing, Arson And Life-Threatening Torture Over Peace Loving Innocent Sikkimese People In And Around Siliguri. We Also Condemn The Blockade And Loot Of The Vehicles Carrying Daily Necessities Towards Sikkim By The West Bengal Government In Collaboration With The Local Political And Non-Political Parties. We Request The Centre To Ensure That The Lives Of The People Of Sikkim In Siliguri Are Protected By Every Means.

We Also Strongly Condemn The Arson And Destruction Of Public Properties In The “Proposed Gorkhaland Region.” It Has Come To The Notice That There Are Miscreants From The Antigorkhaland Parties In The Rally Who Are Involved In Such Acts. We Appeal To All The Stakeholders To Led The Movement Sternly Towards Its Logical Goal.
