Several Kanwad Yatris, ITBP And Police Personnel Were Injured After An Incident Of Stone Pelting Took Place In Bareilly.24 Kawariyas, 6 ITBP And Police Personnel Were Injured In Stone Pelting By A Mob During The 'Kanwar Yatra' In Bareilly. It Is Alleged That The Attack Happened After The Yatris Played Loud Music While Passing Through A Muslim-Dominated Locality. The Police Had To Resort To A Lathi Charge To Disperse The Crowd.Gajendra Kumar, Senior Superintendent Of Police Said, 'We Are Making Arrests And One Police Officer Has Been Suspended; (The) Situation (Is) Peaceful At The Moment'.

Vikram Singh, District Magistrate, Bareilly, Said The Kanwariyas "Did Not Have Permission" To Pass Through The Route, Which Fell Under Pockets Of Muslim Population.The Kanwad Yatra Is In News Since The State Government Recently Announced That There Will Be No Non-Vegetarian Food Served In The Restaurants And Dhabas Of Greater Noida, As The Yatris Would Pass Through That Route.
